Entered, but not verified by TDB and RHB. Bob and Don were both shooting for the last two wickets when Martha LeM came from 11 to the aid of her husband contrary to the spirit and ideals of the camaraderie of the Golden Mallet. If her motivation had been that she merely did not want Bob to win that it would have been understood and applauded by all. But it was obvious she wanted her husband to win. This action is especially disheartening to those of us who have done so much to further the cause of women’s equality by allowing them equal treatment on the field of play.
Accordingly by action in Council, Martha both is hereby censured. Further she is barred from holding the Golden Mallot during this year.

[KB’s hand?]Quorum of the board of directors of the Golden Mallet has ruled that the 1976 award will be held jointly by D LeMessurier and Tiger “Ed” Williams. This is to serve as a valuable lesson to those who would interfere during the course of play. C s o t p h.
