On 6/31[sic?]/1973, Mstr. T.R. Beeby, playing in his first major competition, amazed onlookers and members of the order of the Golden Mallet by winning over 5 others in legitimate play. (Losers included) HJ Beeby, RH Beeby, L Eliz Beeby, Eliz A Beeby, & Lauren Schadt. This event believed worthy of a notation as part of our regular program of encouraging younger aspirants.
